Eleventh Station of the Resurrection
Jesus Ascends into Heaven
They asked, “Lord, has the time come? Are you going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” Jesus replied, “It is not for you to know times or dates that the Father has decided by his own authority, but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and then you will be my witnesses… indeed, to the end of the earth.” As they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him from their sight Suddenly two men in white were standing near them and they said,” “Why are you men from Galilee standing here looking into the sky? Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, this same Jesus will come back in the same way as you have seen him go there..”
Acts 1:6-11
F: We adore Thee, O Christ, and we praise You!
R: Because by the Wood of the Cross and Light of the Resurrection You have redeemed the world.
Witness account
The disciples gather on the Mount of Olives to pray and Jesus appears among them. Jesus gives the news that He is to return to His Father in Heaven but His followers will not be left alone and promises the coming of the Holy Spirit.
