The Holy Shroud of Turin exhibition Apr 22, 2026 | News The Holy Shroud of Turin exhibition will be on display at St John’s Catholic Church, in South Parade, Bath, from Sunday 3 May until Sunday 17 May. The exhibition features a full-sized replica of the Shroud of Turin – the actual Shroud is housed in the cathedral of the Italian city of Turin – and includes detailed information boards. The Shroud of Turin is a length of linen cloth that bears a faint image of the front and back of a man. It has been venerated for centuries, especially by members of the catholic church, as the actual burial shroud used to wrap the body of Jesus of Nazareth after his crucifixion, and upon which Jesus's bodily image is miraculously imprinted. The exhibition includes original Roman nails, a replica whip and a spear. And there are information boards about art, history and the latest research on the Shroud. It offers a wonderful opportunity to learn more and study this sacred cloth - which for some, has proved to be a deeply moving and profound experience. You can find further details of the exhibition which has travelled across the country by looking at the exhibition website: shroudofturin.uk St John’s is open each day from about 7.30am, closing at 6.30pm each evening. You would be very welcome to come and visit the church and the Shroud exhibition.
