Helping to keep you safe in Church
Covid guidelines for attending Mass
1/
At present, the obligation to attend Sunday Mass remains suspended.
2/
All Masses will be in Chard at present. Please consider attending any of the weekday Masses, instead of automatically choosing a Sunday Mass.
3/
There is a limit of 25 people who can attend each Mass. A “reservation system” is in place; contact Maggie on (01460) 75714 to book your place at a Mass. Booking is essential as half of the pews are taped off to meet social distancing requirements; when all the available seats are filled, anyone who arrives and has not booked cannot be admitted.
4/
Once you have booked, please let Maggie know if you decide not to attend, so that your place can be offered to someone else. This is especially important for the weekend Masses where there is a great demand for places and a “waiting list” is in operation.
5/
FACE COVERINGS MUST BE WORN WHEN ATTENDING MASS OR ADORATION.
6/
You will notice some differences in how the celebration takes place. For the time being, there is no congregational singing and Mass is shorter than usual. The Church is cleaned and disinfected after each Mass or service. Numbers of people and spacing are monitored to ensure social distancing is practised correctly. Those attending should use the hand gel provided and maintain a safe distance from others.
“We need more volunteers to help steward this programme of Masses and Prayer – please speak to Maggie on 01460 75714 if you are willing to help.
Thank you for your co-operation!”
